Deuteronomy 6:5

Hey there, bloggers! 

Today's verse is Deuteronomy 6:5. I chose this verse mainly because we studied it in youth group last night and I thought I would just expand my thoughts of it here on my blog! :)

Here's how it goes:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."

I truly believe that by doing this we can strengthen our relationship with Him and with others! 

Love God with everything that's in you. He deserves it after all He's done for us. Coming and dying on the cross for us is the best thing anyone could ever do for us. He forgave all of our sins. Past ones, present ones, and even the sins we will commit in the future. 

It's mind-blowing to know that God knows everything we have ever done, what we are doing now, and even what we will do in the future! 

Sin is a serious thing. (And I know I'm going off on a billion of rabbit trails, but there's a point to them all. I think. Lol ;)

The other night I went to the VBS at our church. My sister brought a couple of her little girl neighbor friends with her and I heard that they had a blast while there! :) 

But, at the end of the night I went up to them and asked them what they had learned tonight. My little sister Addy said she learned that sin is something that everyone does and sometimes you sin even when you don't think you are. Her other friend Kamille (who is somewhat churched, but not normally. Only on occasions.) said the typical thing you learn at VBS. That Jesus loves you. And I know it's true, but I just wished that she had gotten more out of the study that night than just 'Jesus loves you', you know? Then comes my sister's other friend, Amber. She is almost 6 years old and doesnt (well, didn't) know what a Bible was, or what sin was. After the VBS night was over, she asked me what sin was and what it meant to sin. 

To tell you the honest truth, I had never been asked that before. It broke my heart to hear that come from her (much less, anyone else). So, the other night my little sister had a sleepover with all her little neighborhood girlies and I sat them down for a little bit to talk to them some about Christ and how much He loves them and what He came to do for us. :) 

It also broke my heart to hear some of them say, while in Bible study time, "This is torture. I can't take it anymore." I couldn't believe my ears! What I was hearing come from their mouths just tore me apart. Truthfully, it made me cry. Seeing some of them not even want to hear about the Gospel or just how much they are loved by Him. 

But, eventually some of them started asking questions about Heaven and Hell and if they would see their grandparents there (in Heaven), and what Heaven and Hell was like. So, knowing that they are too little to be told what Hell is like, I just decided to tell them all the pleasures of Heaven and what all fun we would have when we get there! 

That's when the Bible time led to question time to two of my sister's friends wanting me to read them Genesis 1. The story of Creation. That's when my heart started jumping at the sign of taking interest to the Word and how we came to be and all the animals and trees and plants and such. 

We didn't get to pray before bed like I wanted to with them, but we sure did have a lot of fun learning about God's Creation and love for us! 

It blesses me to know that they now have some interest in God's Word and to know that I can be that someone for them to come to at anytime to talk about anything they want to! :) 

My prayer is for them to realize what God has done for them and how much He loves them. Eventually for them to become saved, born again Christians! I have super high hopes for these girls! 

Anywho, thanks for reading this extremely long post! You all mean so much to me! :) I love all my little follower friends! 

I thank the Lord everyday for every chance I get to witness for HIS kingdom! :)

1 Thessalonians 5:5

Hey guys. Another scripture post for ya today! :)

Today I chose 1 Thessalonians 5:5. 

It says:

"You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do NOT belong to the night or to the darkness."

This just made me think that if we are in God, then we belong in Him. We ARE His! Doesn't that make you feel special and loved? I know I feel that way! :)

God loves us no matter what! ---> Something we went over in VBS last night. He will never leave us nor forsake us! That's just wonderful!

If we're saved, we aren't owned by the devil! God owns our hearts and we are totally and completely safe! Wow! What assurance! :)

God loves all of us, each the same! More than anything in the world, universe, and beyond that! I don't know about you, but that makes me feel great!

Ok, so I know you're probably thinking "What they heck, Kaela?! Why this picture?" 

Well, I really only like this picture for the lighting. How it's kind of spotted over the rocks and some places are dark. Ignore me, lol.

 This was taken in the Smokey Mountains on a vacation we had this year. It was really fun! I think I'll do the next post on my trip there. :)

Galatians 1:10

Hey you guys! 

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while. 

I'm not sure what's wrong with me.. 

I may be suffering from writer's block, or something. :(

Anyways, I've had a verse laid on my heart recently, and I felt like I needed to share it with you all!

It's Galatians 1:10. It goes like this:

"Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."

I really like that verse because I feel like I can apply it to my own life. 

Mostly because I can try to find my security or pride in people, and what they do for me. 

Or, what I do for them. Doing things for people just to fit in, or to feel loved or good is the wrong way to go in life. 

Find your security and love within Christ! He loves you more than anyone will ever love you! 

*ques John 3:16:*

"For God so loved(s) the world that He gave his only Son. That whoever believes in Him, shall not die, but live eternally!"

Pleasing people can bring you to places you never wanted to be.

Trust me, I've been there.

Fitting in isn't worth it! 

God will never leave you or abandon you, even in the hard times when you feel like no one is listening.

Trust me, I've been there too. 

So, I hope this post has encouraged you folks to get out there and make a difference somehow. 

It's as easy as telling someone that Jesus loves them. It makes me feel good to hear it, I know someone is out there needing this message right now, too. 

Inspiration is everywhere! Go find yourself some! :)

Majesty Academy Formal!

Hey you guys! 

Wow! I need to start posting more! I kind of knew that whenever I started blogging I wouldn't be true to it! 

Well, like, all the time. Like you all are! I wish {I really wish} I had the time you all have to post! But, sadly, I do not. :(

So, now, right now in this moment, I have time to post! :) 

This makes me happy! Haha

Anyways, I actually have something to post about today! 

It's about the formal we had at school a couple weeks ago. I know, I know, I'm just a little late.. But, this is totally something worthy of posting about. 

OK, here it goes..

So, first of all, I want to show you a picture of me in my dress!

And me and my whole high school. Yes, whole. Lol

There's only, like, 30 or 35 of us in the whole high school. Weird, huh? lol

Anyways, we had so much fun that night! 

First, when we got there, the first ten of us (that arrived) piled into a limo and rode a couple blocks around the school. You see, the only reason we rode in one is because the owner of our school (who just so happens to be my Literature teacher, as well) wanted that night to be extra special for us. So, just so we could say we rode in a limo, we rode in a limo. Lol!
Great stuff, right? Ha!

Then, after everyone got out of the limo we all (the three girls that were in the limo, anyways... which included my friends Laura Owens, Heather Green, and myself) were escorted by two of the boys that got out of the limo before us. One of them being sweetie pie, Jesse (he's a sophomore, by the way). And the other being a senior in our school named Justin. They're both real sweeties, too!

Then we all (the whole high school, yet again) enjoyed the wonderful Majesty Academy Awards Ceremony. (: Which is just where we handed out different awards for different people. That's all of that. Haha!

Next we all went to two different after parties. One at Jesse's house, and one at Bethany's house. They were both super fun!
I cant wait until next year's formal! Next year I'll be a sophomore! Yippee! Next year I'll dress up more, too! I felt so under-dressed! All the other girls were so dressed up! I can't believe how beautiful they all were!

Anyways, if you have any "prom" or "formal" or even "dance" memories feel free to share them with me! I'd be totally enthused to read them! Lol

Thanks for reading, and I promise I'll be updating more than usual. I'm just as busy as a bee! :( Oh well! I'll find the time eventually!

Oh My Goodness, you guys! 

I cannot believe I like totally and completely left you all there for like a month! LOL! 

I feel so so SO SO bad! I mean, I kind of just forgot about my blog! 

WOW!

And just to keep you on guard, I might do that again...

So, since I missed the end of my own photo contest I thought I might as well tell the winner now!

But, I do have some bad news...

Unfortunately, I have no prize or gift for the winner. 

I know what you're thinking...

"Kaela, you're so dumb! Why didn't you prepare anything? That's just stupid. Thanks a lot!"

And I do deserve every bit of that criticism, but alas, I am new at this and didn't really know what to do about giving out a prize.

Maybe next time I'll find some sort of prize to give out! :)

So, I had something else to tell you all, but I forgot...

I remember now! 

Just the other day I was browsing around on iTunes and I found the most amazing singers eVeR!

Wanna know who they are?

Oh, you don't?

Well, too bad! Lol :P

The first is called Adele. My favorite song by her is called Rolling In The Deep! Its so, so, African sounding! Its cool! ;) She has the most amazing/incredible/unique voice Ive ever heard. Its actually really really good! You should try her out! 

Next is Natalie Taylor. My favorite song by her is called Its Okay. Her voice is SO pretty! :)  Shes kind of a mix of Miley Cyrus and He is We (have any of you heard of He is We? Well, if you haven't, you should. Because He is We is great!). But its crazy because she looks just like Ashley Tisdale, only with darker hair. Its hard to believe they aren't related! Haha

Last, but definitely not least, is We the Kings! They are probably in my 'Top 3' right now (well, duh. haha). But my favorite song by them is called We'll Be A Dream {and for all you Demi Lovato fans out there, they do a duet with her in this song! :)} Its absolutely awesome! You wont regret listening to them! 

I'm done now. I'm pretty sure Ive caught you up on everything thats gone on in my life since I've last posted. Thanks for staying faithful even when I'm not actually posting! Lol
